Dear Mama Doula
Full Spectrum Doula Services
About Me
Hey, it's me Samaria! I serve families in Jacksonville, FL as a traditionally trained full spectrum doula focusing on, birth, postpartum and bereavement services. Becoming a birth worker has been so insightful and such a joy for me. As I lean into this beautiful world, I'm reminded more and more why I love what I do. Each experience is so unique and beautifully timed. My practice is founded in evidence-based care and holistic views.

I entered the birthing world as a doula and I'm quickly realizing that I'm being called into midwifery. My journey ironically began with the birth of my own baby! When I became pregnant with my first baby, I continued to feel discouraged with the options available in my area. The standard of care for natural birthing, without fear base information in a hospital, simply wasn’t adequate enough. That is why I enjoy providing individualized care and dedicated time spent between mothers and families in the comfort of their home, or a birthing center. Prenatal and postpartum care should be comfortable, gentle, slow, and relaxed. I am committed to offering mothers the care that meets their specific needs. I believe that a mother is ultimately in control of her care and should be an active and informed decision maker in all stages of the process. It is my goal to empower, connect and educate women and families in our community.

Having one traditional hospital birth experience of my own, that was less than satisfactory, my eyes were quickly opened to a necessary expansion of birth options in my community. I consider this pinnacle moment to be a turning point in my life and the start of my birth worker journey! I knew my purpose was to help mothers avoid what I experienced. I felt utterly called to give them a voice and to help them accomplish the births they envisioned. We are taking back our birthing story and creating a space where we are centering, and uplifting the birth journey.
